Hi. My name is Nikhil Myers (Niku). I am a high school student who has been playing percussion for eight years. I have played in concert bands, symphonic orchestras, jazz bands, and marching bands. My passion for fixing percussion instruments came after I bought my first drum set, a Pearl Roadshow. I wanted to understand everything about it, from how to apply drum wraps, to the different types of snare wires, to different tuning methods. Over the past two years, I have learned about the technical aspects of percussion from some of the best jazz musicians and drum set repair people in the industry.

There are a large number of drums sitting in people’s garages, basements, and attics while there is a significant number of people, schools, and institutions that need drums. My goal with Repeat the Beat is to complete the hard part of the process- refurbishing these instruments- and then connecting people with drums. This is why for every drum set I sell, another one is donated to a school or other organization.
